If you got this far and you're asking yourself what the different wood types are ... here is the Wood Species options page.
At Advent Wood Products, every sign is a piece of art. The graphic you choose is central to telling your story. Here's a guide to our graphic options and carving techniques.
Wondering what size sign to get ...
This graphic gives a basic idea of scale but also you can check out our blog post about this very subject for some guidance.
Our Graphics Library
We offer a wide and ever-growing library of popular graphics perfect for mountain-inspired decor. From iconic ski and snowboard symbols to wildlife like bears and moose, and classic Canadian maple leaves, we have a vast collection to choose from.
The options you see on our product pages are the most frequently requested, but they are just the beginning.
Have a Custom Graphic in Mind?
Don't see exactly what you're looking for? We love bringing unique ideas to life.
If you have a specific vision—whether it's a silhouette of your favourite mountain, a family emblem, or a symbol that has personal meaning—we can work with you to create a custom design.
How it works:
- Either use the upload option toward the end of the product personalisation options to load an image file, or
- Mention in the text box at the end of the personalisation options what it is you are after & we will come up with suitable ideas.
- We will incorporate it into your 3D design proof and send it to you for approval before we start carving.
Carving Styles Explained
The carving style dramatically affects the look and feel of your sign. We offer two primary techniques:
- Raised (or 'Embossed') Style ... we refer to this as the framed look

- In this style, we carve away the wood around the graphic, making the graphic itself stand up from the background.
- This creates a bold, 3D effect where the symbol is the most prominent feature. It has a classic, hand-carved feel.
2. Recessed (or 'Engraved') Style

- In this style, we carve the graphic into the wood, creating an engraved or stamped look.
- This results in a clean, modern, and subtle design where the graphic is elegantly pressed into the wood surface.
We encourage you to look at our product photos either in the gallery for each product or we have thousands on Instagram ... to see which style speaks to you. Both are beautiful and durable, and the best choice is simply a matter of personal preference.
