Welcome !  Wood carved signs is what we do ... and personalisation is our "special sauce".

1. Pick your material (eg. knotty pine, maple, or north american ash) & the main background colour (ie. this is the starting point for the sign blank which we will then carve in to).  If the primary colour is the natural wood tone, then the carved sections will always be black.  If the primary colour is an actual paint finish, then the carved sections will be the natural wood tone.
2. Describe what you want on your sign in the following format:
- graphic on left: 
- graphic on right: 
- main (larger) text: 
- subtext (smaller) under the main text: 

With the graphics there are limitations as to the level of detail so think of something that would look good in all one colour such as a silhouette or similar to the examples shown.

3. We send you a rendering once we receive your order.
4. Once the rendering is approved we make your unique sign & ship in 3-5 days (volume orders may take a little longer so feel free to message us for an expected schedule)

NOTE: If you want a logo added make sure it is something you have the copyright for and that it can be in one colour and still look good.

This specific sign product is 5" tall & 36" wide as standard.  We have several sizes of sign available on our store so we may be able to tailor one of those or create something new if you need a very specific size. 

MATERIAL CHOICE:

Please remember that wood by its very nature is an imperfect material with natural character and no two pieces are exactly the same as is the case with most things in nature. As with all our signs we will send you a rendering first once we get your order so you can make any corrections ... and then from there it takes only a few days before this is on it's way.

Knotty pine: this is a softer wood with lots of knots and more rustic in appearance ... the knots are where the branches would have grown out of the tree & the wood is both harder & darker where there are knots.  The placement of the knots is completely random.  Knots are typically darker compared to the surrounding light wood.  IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE NATURAL CHARACTER OF WOOD then either avoid ordering any of our products as they are all made from wood OR stick to maple as it has less variation.

Canadian maple: this is a more expensive species and also this is a denser / harder wood than the knotty pine and has far fewer natural defects such as knots.  It has a similar light tone but also cuts a little crisper due to the density of the wood.

North American ash (available for some products): this is the best option if the sign is to be mounted outdoors as it naturally inhibits rot and carpenter ants.

PLEASE REMEMBER these are not intended to replicate metal or plastic signs as they will contain some degree of natural character.

## WALL MOUNTING >>> for indoors use our signs are intended to be mounted on the wall or a door or some other vertical flat surface. As of Jan 2022 we will supply metal hangers with all our signs unless advised otherwise (select the appropriate option when ordering your sign). These are the type that slip over 2 screws on the surface so that the sign does not protrude more than about 1/8" from the wall.  See the last photo in the product gallery for an example.
