Sugar Bowl opened in 1939 on the granite slopes above Donner Summit, reached originally by a gondola from the transcontinental railroad stop at Norden. Walt Disney was one of the founding investors and helped design the resort — the European-influenced alpine lodge at the base, warm and generous, bears the character of that original vision. The Sierra Nevada here receives some of the deepest snowpack in California, the Pacific storms crossing the mountains and dropping their load on the granite slopes above the pass.
Sugar Bowl is not Tahoe glamour. It is something rarer — a mountain with genuine history, a loyal local following, and terrain that rewards skiers who know where to look. The granite domes and open bowls above the lodge have been skied by generations of Northern California families for whom Sugar Bowl is simply the mountain at the end of the drive, the one that smells like pine and woodsmoke, the one that made them skiers.

- If your order arrives damaged then we will send a replacement provided you notify us within 14 days of receipt. Please note that the natural character traits of wood are not considered damage ... these are wood signs after all. We suggest the maple option if you prefer less in terms of "character".
- Any non-personalized products can be returned within 30 days for a refund, however you will need to pay for shipping if for any reason other than damage or wrong product and they must arrive back in the original condition.
