The Passo del Mortirolo is not the highest climb in the Giro d’Italia, but it may be the hardest. Gradients regularly exceed 18% on the approach from Mazzo di Valtellina — a narrow, relentless wall through dense forest with almost no respite. Marco Pantani, the greatest climber of his generation, made this mountain his own. In 1994 he rode away from the entire field here, including Miguel Induráin, in one of the most devastating displays of climbing in Giro history. A statue of Pantani now stands on the roadside — a fitting tribute on a climb that suited no one better. Hairpin 11 bears his name. The legend continues.

- If your order arrives damaged then we will send a replacement provided you notify us within 14 days of receipt. Please note that the natural character traits of wood are not considered damage ... these are wood signs after all. We suggest the maple option if you prefer less in terms of "character".
- Any non-personalized products can be returned within 30 days for a refund, however you will need to pay for shipping if for any reason other than damage or wrong product and they must arrive back in the original condition.
