Make your house truly feel like home with a piece that blends rustic charm with heartfelt sentiment. This beautifully crafted "Home Sweet Home" sign features a classic black bear silhouette set against a backdrop of trees and a serene moon, creating a perfect welcome for family and friends.

Proudly made in Canada, this sign is carved from a single, solid piece of wood. You have the freedom to choose the perfect material to match your home's style from four distinct options:

  • Douglas Fir: Rich, warm grain, milled locally in British Columbia.
  • Knotty Pine: Bright, rustic character with prominent knots.
  • Canadian Maple: Clean, smooth, and elegant grain.
  • North American Ash: Strong and durable with a beautiful, light / mid tone.

Important Note: For signs that will be displayed outdoors, we strongly recommend choosing North American Ash or Douglas Fir (less dense, more natural flaws) for its superior weather resistance. Maple and Pine are best suited for indoor use only.

In all versions, the "Home Sweet Home" lettering is left in its natural wood tone, while the recessed background and charming bear and tree scene are painted a deep black for a stunning visual contrast. The entire piece is then finished with Danish oil for a durable, low-sheen lustre that protects the wood and enhances its natural beauty.

As wood is a natural material, the unique grain pattern ensures your sign is a one-of-a-kind treasure.

This sign measures 24 inches wide by 10 inches tall and is a substantial 1 inch thick. It arrives ready to hang with two pre-installed keyhole brackets on the back for a secure and perfectly flush wall mount.

Materials

Here are the standard wood options

All our products are made from solid wood ie. no MDF or plywood unless specified for a custom order.

Wood by its very nature (being an all natural material) has its character traits ... some species more than others. Pine, fir and to a lesser excent cedar all have knots and significant colour variation is possible. We don’t use much cedar as it if no longer easy to get in BC.

Maple is more predictable with very few knots, and bring a fairly dense wood it machines precisely. Ash is similar with the added benefit of being more resistant to rot so good fit outdoor use.

Shipping & Returns

We will start to make your sign AFTER any personalization has been approved via email [we send you a computer rendering within 72hrs of receiving your order]. It then takes about 5 days once you have given approval via email reply to carve, finish, pack & ship. During busy periods such as the Xmas rush this can increase to 2 weeks and larger / volume orders can also take longer.

NOTE: We are not responsible for delays caused by customs or other carrier-related delays out of our control. When your order ships you will get a calculated ESTIMATED time of arrival based on the carrier's own standards, but this is not a guaranteed arrival date.

We only ship with trackable methods such as Canada Post Expedited Parcel, UPS Ground, Purolator Ground, etc.

Contact us within 14 days of receipt with any damage or other product concerns. For returns we need to receive the product back within 30 days of you receiving it and it must be in new condition (unless of course it arrived damaged).

Dimensions

We actually make our products using mm but we will quote sizes in both mm & the closest inch dimensions. It's just way more precise to use mm in the workshop.

Care Instructions

We use exterior grade paints and all sign products have an exterior clear coat on the front and edges.
We can paint the back side also if you ask.

As long as you avoid spilling anything on the wood or wipe off immediately then there should be minimal maintenance required ... wipe down with a damp cloth.
As with any wood product try to avoid excessive temperature fluctuations as the wood can distort. Some amount of fading is to be expected with any painted wood product exposed to the sun & elements over time ... much in the same way that the siding on a house or your car will fade in the sun eventually.

    • All orders are shipped with tracking so you can check on the latest ETA & for international orders you can see if Customs is looking for any additional info.
    • For USA customers: our products are all exempt from tariffs under the USMCA.
    • We cannot ship to a PO box as we use carriers other than the mail service.

  • Hassle-Free Exchanges

    • If your order arrives damaged then we will send a replacement provided you notify us within 14 days of receipt. Please note that the natural character traits of wood are not considered damage ... these are wood signs after all. We suggest the maple option if you prefer less in terms of "character".
    • Any non-personalized products can be returned within 30 days for a refund, however you will need to pay for shipping if for any reason other than damage or wrong product and they must arrive back in the original condition.
